The end of one journey...and the beginning of another.

The unanimous approval of Waukesha’s application under the Great Lakes Compact was a major milestone in the effort to secure a safe and sustainable source of water for our city.

It represented the culmination of more than ten years of cooperative action involving the Compact Council, governmental agencies at the state and local levels, private sector consultants, concerned citizens, and the City of Waukesha.

The amount of information generated and compiled since our first Future Water Study in 2002 is truly staggering, and serves to remind the world of the high standards to which the application was held.

As a public service, we’ve made thousands of pages of background documents related to Waukesha’s quest available to any and all who are interested. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, please contact us.

We’re now moving full-speed ahead into the next phase of our New Water Supply Program. But even as we welcome the future, know that we have no intention of forgetting the past.
